IP address lookup

Look up a public IP address and provider details.

How to use this tool

Start a lookup to contact the named external service. Location is approximate; VPN status is not established.

Shared links can include your settings and text. Share only information you want others to see.

Start a lookup

Use ipify to check your public IP, or ipapi.co for network details. Requests start only when you press a button.

What information is shared?

“Look up IP address” contacts ipapi.co for approximate network details. “Check only my public IP” contacts ipify for your current connection’s public IP, without location details. The selected service receives your connection’s IP; ipapi.co also receives the address you enter. Neither is contacted until you start.

What this lookup cannot tell you

An IP location can describe a network gateway, mobile carrier or provider’s registration area. It does not identify a person’s home address. The measured milliseconds describe one HTTPS request to the lookup API, not a ping to the entered IP, a speed test or your internet quality.

Missing VPN, proxy or security information means unknown. This tool does not certify that a connection is safe or free of a VPN.

Something to try

Understand a public IP lookup

Leave the field empty to look up your current public IP, or enter a public address. Start the lookup only when you are ready to contact the external provider.

IP location is approximate and cannot establish a person’s exact location or whether a connection is safe.
