The best way to do that is to take a look at the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a clear picture of how well you can earn and how much time is needed to earn from it.

Option 1 – Paid Surveys

The primary way to earn from Unlock is from its surveys. From time to time, you’ll be invited to participate in surveys. You’ll receive the invitation via email. You can also log in to the member dashboard to access the surveys available to you.

Just take note that some surveys will only be accessible via the member dashboard, so you still have to log in to the dashboard from time to time to check if there are available surveys. That’s the best way to maximize your earnings from Unlock.

Each survey will also tell you the reward you will earn when you complete it. You’ll earn points as a reward for completing surveys. Later, I will explain what you can do with the points you’ve earned.

On average, you will be invited to participate in surveys around 1 to 4 times a month, which is quite a low number. This is nothing new because Springboard America also offered very limited earning opportunities.

When answering a survey, you’ll first have to answer a set of qualifying questions. This is to determine if you belong to the demographic the survey is intended for. If you pass the qualifying phase, you get to answer the survey. If you fail to qualify, you simply move on to the next survey available (if there are any).

As mentioned above, Unlock also holds sweepstakes from time to time. One of the sweepstakes it offers is exclusive to new members. The prize for this is quite a significant amount ($1,000). But for other sweepstakes draws, the prizes will be a bit less.

There’s not a lot of information about their sweepstakes on the website, but you will be able to see all the active prize draws once you log in to the dashboard. You’ll also see the draw date for every sweepstakes draw the site runs.

It goes without saying that this opportunity doesn’t offer guaranteed earnings. It’s just a chance for you to win a significant amount by being an active member of Unlock, since you’ll earn entries when answering surveys.

Option 3 – Referral Program

Lastly, you can earn additional rewards from Unlock’s referral program. Just be informed that this opportunity is not always available, and only some members will be chosen to participate in their referral program campaigns.

If you get chosen to participate in their referral program, you’ll receive an invite via email. This email will contain the instructions you must follow to participate in the referral program. I personally didn’t experience this when I was testing Unlock, so I can’t tell you more about it. Referral program campaigns only run for a limited period.

How do you get paid?

As explained above, you’ll earn points from the surveys you answer. Now, the question is, what can you do with the points you’ve earned?

Well, you can use them to redeem various rewards like PayPal cash and gift cards for Amazon, Target, Google Play, Starbucks, and more. You can also choose to donate your earnings to a charity the site supports.

But to redeem a reward, you must earn at least 2,500 points. That will be worth $25. In my opinion, it’s quite a high payout threshold for a survey site. So, you must be patient with it.

Overall, the payout system of Unlock is relatively straightforward. However, as mentioned, it has quite a high threshold. If you prefer sites that have a low payout threshold, I suggest you check out the fastest paying sites instead.

How much money can you make?

The amount you can earn from Unlock will mostly depend on how many surveys you can complete. But as mentioned earlier, it doesn’t offer a lot of surveys, so it’s no different from its predecessor, Springboard America, in my opinion.

It will take quite a while before you can withdraw your earnings since most surveys will only reward you around $0.50 to $2 at most. Some surveys are worth more, but they are few and far between.

This is why I would say the earning potential of Unlock is very low. It will take a lot of time before you hit the threshold to withdraw your earnings.

Can you use it on mobile?

Unlock doesn’t have a mobile app you can download, but you can still access the dashboard on your phone using a mobile web browser. Fortunately, the site is mobile-friendly, so you should be able to answer surveys conveniently using your mobile device.

This can greatly increase your chances of earning because you can answer surveys anytime and anywhere. The overall user experience it provides is also generally pleasant, which is all you can ask for from a survey site, in my opinion.

Who can join Unlock?

Unlock Surveys is only available to people who live in the US. So, if you live somewhere else, then this is not for you. To register, you must fill out the registration form, which will involve five steps (refer to the photo below).

Now, one thing to take note of is that even if you manage to complete the registration process, there’s still a chance you won’t get accepted as a member of this panel. That’s because Unlock doesn’t accept every person who signs up as a member.

They only accept people who fit the demographic they are looking for. As to what those categories are, I’m not quite sure because the site doesn’t have any information about them. So, even if you are eligible to join, there’s still a chance you won’t get accepted as a member of Unlock.

Can you get support?

If you have questions about the site or your account, you can check out the FAQ page. It discusses some of the basic topics you need to know about Unlock. However, it’s not as comprehensive as you might have hoped.

Plus, you will definitely find a site you can join regardless of where you live.
