NPS is (% of promoters) minus (% of detractors). Promoters are respondents scoring 9 or 10, detractors score 0-6, and passives score 7-8. The result ranges from -100 to +100. Anything above 50 is considered excellent.
We treat “top-box” responses as satisfied customers. On a five-point scale that means ratings of 4 or 5. For shorter scales, only the highest rating counts. The CSAT score is the percentage of total responses that fall into the top box.
